2. What we process

• Payment data. When you press I'M IN you go to a payment page run by Stripe. Stripe collects your payment details and gives us the information we need to record your entry: name, email address, country, amount, date and payment status. Your card number never reaches us.
• Your sentence. At checkout you are asked to write one sentence. Stripe passes it to us with your payment. Only we read it and we do not publish it.
• Your email address. We use it to tell you when the date arrives.
• Technical data. Our hosting provider processes your IP address, browser type and the time of each request, to deliver the site and keep it secure.
• The entry counter. The page asks our server for the number of completed payments. This is a total and contains no personal data.

3. Why, and on what legal basis

• To take your payment and record your entry: performance of a contract (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR).
• To keep accounting and tax records: legal obligation (Art. 6(1)(c) GDPR).
• To keep the site secure and prevent fraud: our legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
• To email you when the date arrives: performance of a contract (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR), because it is part of what you paid for.

4. Who receives your data

• Stripe processes payments and acts as an independent controller for its own purposes, such as fraud prevention and legal compliance. See stripe.com/privacy.

We do not sell your data.

5. Transfers outside the EU

Some of these providers are based in the United States. Transfers rely on the EU-US Data Privacy Framework or on Standard Contractual Clauses, depending on the provider.

6. Automated decisions and children

We do not make decisions about you by automated means. The site is not meant for people under 18.

7. Changes

If we change this notice, the new version appears on this page with a new date.
